VISITING THE RUSKIN LIBRARY

The Ruskin Library is situated on the campus of Lancaster University, just south of the city of Lancaster. It is easily reached by bus or car – the bus stop and car parking are both close to the Ruskin Library; taxis are available at the station for those travelling by rail, and there is also a cyclepath/footpath from the centre of Lancaster.

Parking

The nearest parking to the Ruskin Library is Bowland Avenue (near the Chaplaincy Centre and Security – turn left at the roundabout) or Farrer Avenue (turn right at roundabout then 2nd left) – the charges are £2 for up to 2 hours or £5 per day – there are pay and display machines at each place. In term time, parking can be difficult; if you cannot find a space go to Security/Reception (also signposted) who will be able to help you.

The nearest blue-badge parking spaces are located on Bowland Avenue

A map of all parking is available at http://www.lancaster.ac.uk/media/lancaster-university/content-assets/documents/maps/campus-map.pdf

Buses

The University is served by  services from Lancaster city centre and the railway station. All services stop in the Underpass, which is about a 5 minute walk from the Ruskin Library.

Taxis

Taxis are available from Lancaster’s train and bus stations, and normally drop passengers off either at Security/Reception or in the Underpass
